Privacy Policy

RanDJ is an iPhone app with an AI DJ that hosts a radio show just for you: it picks songs from your Apple Music and talks to you between them. To do that it needs to know your taste in music and remember what you tell it. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who processes it for us, and how you can see and delete it.
What we collect
- Account. You sign up with Sign in with Apple. We receive your Apple user identifier, plus the name and email you choose to share (which may be an Apple private relay address).
- Your taste in music. With your permission, the app reads your recently played songs, a sample of your library and your most-played artists, and sends a summary to our server. Your likes and dislikes in RanDJ are stored; liking a song also marks it as a Favorite in Apple Music through your account.
- Listening history. The songs the DJ played, whether you heard them out or skipped them, and what the DJ said.
- What you send the DJ. Written messages and song requests are stored so the DJ can answer them and refer back later. Voice messages (up to 30 seconds) are sent to a speech-recognition service for transcription; we keep the text, not the recording.
- The DJ’s memory. Notes the DJ keeps about your preferences and conversations, and a running summary of your listening, so it can pick up where you left off. You can view and edit these notes in Settings › DJ’s Memory.
- Purchases. When you buy talk time we verify the transaction with Apple and record its ID, product, price, currency and storefront, and your remaining talk time. We never see your payment details.
- Device and usage. Your time zone and language, so the DJ knows what time it is and speaks your language, and in-app events such as screens opened and keys pressed, linked to your account, to understand how the app is used.
- Kept only on your phone. The audio and text of the DJ’s last few segments, and settings such as the room you chose.
We do not track you across apps or websites, use advertising identifiers, show ads, or sell your information.
How we use it
To run the show (pick songs, write and voice what the DJ says, answer your messages, remember you); to meter talk time and verify purchases; to keep the service secure and prevent abuse; and to understand how features are used so we can improve the app.
Who processes it
The DJ is powered by third-party AI services. We send each one only what it needs:

These providers operate servers in various countries and regions, so your information may be processed outside your country or region, where data protection laws may differ from yours.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information until you delete your account, which you can do at any time in Settings › Delete Account. Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes your account, the DJ’s memory, conversations, messages and listening history from our servers.
Purchase transaction records (ID, product, price, currency, storefront) are kept after deletion to stop a purchase from being redeemed twice and to meet accounting and legal obligations. Providers’ logs are deleted on their own schedules.
Your choices
You can view and edit the DJ’s memory in the app and delete your account at any time. For a copy of your data or any other privacy request, email hi@taonan.lu.
Children
RanDJ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
When this policy changes we will update the date on this page, and tell you in the app about significant changes.
